What in the world are you talking about? :h Any trailer wired with a 7-pin Bargman which has been the de facto standard for recreational vehicles for at least 15 yrs now has a charge line > Pin 4 as I previously mentioned. As long as you've got +12 volts on that pin from the tow vehicle you've got a charge line as Pin 4 on the trailer will feed that + 12 volts back to the trailer in order to maintain a charge on the battery. Unless these trailers you've owned have been much older than this or were wired with something less than a Bargman connector they did have a charge line. :R
Nice diagram. I used the exact same one to solve a short to my rear camera that was supposed to be working off the back-up light pin. Wired to running lights and capped the reverse wire. Worked great. Now, not sure why but it seems some manufactures, Open Range included skip the battery. My 12v goes direct to jack and slides...no connection to battery whatsoever and confirmed that this is intentional by Highland Ridge. Not sure if they do it in all their models but the O.R. Lights (my year) is how it is. Now, I don't really care much for emojis so I don't have any piffy ones to post here. Perhaps some help with the battery question would be best. Regardless if hooked to 12 volt lead or not, why would a fully charged battery set drain in 8 hours???
I have tested today hoked up and I'm assuming charged for 24 hours. The Hydrometer showed fully charged. I've unplugged for a few hours to see what the results will be. I have basically the same load while driving, Fridge, radio stand-by, and gas detector. If this shows good, I'll have to start digging into shorts somewhere when hooked up but if no battery connection form 7 pin then not sure.
