OP here, quick update. Thanks for the agreement from several posters that even without charge line the battery should not discharge. I have some testing left to do but I've been working past few days so limited time to diagnose. I've verified the F150 has fuse and relay for 12v pin. Pin has over 14 volts on it so IF getting to battery should actually charge. All I know on the charging battery on this TT regardless of manuals and others knowledge is what the techs at Highland Ridge discussed with me and my dealer when working on other electrical issues. They specifically told me there is no charge line to the battery. Of course they could have just been appeasing me since the dealer was already balking at the other electrical work. H.R. techs have misled me before but that's another story. When I dig in I fully expect to find a short or even capped line in the 12v feed.
For now, the battery seems to charge and hold a charge when not hooked up to truck. Had tried to find better converter but getting one shipped overnight was prohibitive so will make do with what I have for now. Between Renogy Solar and Yam. 2400 we should be good for the next few weeks dry camping.
