I just downloaded the GPS CoPilot app for my IPhone. In my playing with it I see that it has a preference in the setup to choose RV routing that allows you to input height restrictions. The basic app is free with a upgraded version for $9.99. I also understand its available for the Droid community too!

I've been using it for a couple months and love it. Didn't subscribe to the upgraded version. Haven't really researched it to see what the upgraded version has. I know it has live traffic but that's not something we would use.

I have GPS Copilot and also Pocket Earth. I haven't decided yet which one I prefer.They work offline by using maps downloaded to your device, they do take over 2 GB of space each.

We have used the free version of Copilot on my wife's iPad for a several years as a secondary navigation aid. We have a Garmin as our primary but Copilot lets my wife check our routes and make suggestions of side trip or alternate routes. She use to do this with paper maps but spent all her time finding where we were on the map, now the iPad does that part for her.

I am trying before buying. I tried to edit the height for the RV mode to reflect the height of my TT, but the only 2 options are 12'6" and 13'.

Thank you N-Trouble for editing your post. Perhaps having immediate family members in law enforcement, combined with the recent events in my home area where two deputies were killed on the same day protecting our citizens has made me more sensitive to the lack of respect that is sometimes shown to law enforcement.

That only works when you have a cellular connection. Copilot and Pocket Earth work offline. With these apps the maps are on your phone, not the internet.

From what I understand, you need a cell connection to use Google Maps or even the Apple Maps. For me, this is not an option because of cell coverage here in NM. There are a number of places we go that there is no coverage. I am not trying the Copilot app as I think my stand alone GPS, "*****in' Betty", seems to have had a nervous breakdown on my last trip.

Co Pilot is good as it gives you routes to fit your rv under. You have to watch those underpasses on country roads. I just used the free AAA ap and its easy to use, but will not warn you about low bridges. Still have to pay attention to the signs!

I have the free Co Pilot on my iPhone but I don't use it much . It will plan a route just fine and even show you on the map where you are. But you have to pay for the upgrade to have it give you voice directions.
