I bought some Camco plug ends to replace ends on an older 30amp cord I had bought at Walmart. I noticed that the prongs were shorter then the old plugs. When I measured using a Camco male with a Camco female the prongs only inserted approx 1/8 inch and the plugs got hot. I make a habit of never putting two Camco's together and it seems to work fine.
I also use the same technique that SoundGuy uses to help keep the plugs dry after seeing one explode once! Fortunately it wasn't mine. :)
