newbie - How do I lubricate the slide out?

I purchase a product called 'Slide Out Lube'. I know where the steel tracks are but where exactly does the lube go? I don't want to just spray the whole track and get it all over the bottom of the slide out (unless that's is how you do it, it might attract more dirt and make things worse).
