I understand now whats going on with the connection. I would assume that you have a female 50 amp receptacle on the side of the RV. You can't just replace the one female end of that shore power cord with a male end. That will result in another "widow maker" cord. What you need is a proper 50 amp inlet on the RV, a new 50 amp cord, and a 50-30 amp standard adaptor. It will be fairly expensive but is the only safe way to connect your electrical service to either a shore power source or a generator.
