Newbie with 1997 Damon Hornet 2754B Ford with no power to fridge.Hello friends! Looking for advice. There is no power getting to the outlet that my fridge plugs in to. The fridge runs fine when I plug directly in to an extension cord. I have checked the outlet with a multimeter and get nothing. The breaker on the main panel seems fine. I can only find one GFI (in the bathroom) and it is fine. Any ideas...am I missing something? Other outlets are fine. Thanks for any advice/ thoughts.

follow the wire from the outlet might be a inline fuse.

It runs up through the walls of the coach. I might need to get some help on this one. I'm still holding out for a simple fix.

If you haven't pulled the cover off of the outlet, do so, I think it's possible there is a broken or loose wire at the back.

Look around the rig for a GFCI receptacle. It could be tripped. Many times the element for the refer goes to ground tripping GFCIs.

Go to the non-working outlets. Open them up and check for loose/broken/burned wires. If everything is good in the first one you check go to the next malfunctioning one and do the same. Some where you have a faulty connection. Over time a wire has loosened up from its connection. My bet is the connection is a stab-in type and the wire was cut to short and over stretched on the install.

Helpful to know make and model of the rig. Someone here may have the same rig or similar.
Does any of the breakers have a yellow test button?
You need to go through the rig again for the GFCI receptacle. It could be in head, galley or even outside.

Are the 2 outlets that do not work in close proximity to each other? That could indicate that they are fed by the same circuit breaker. Check the wiring at the refrig CB. Check for voltage at that point. Check also for tight screws on both the neutral and ground buss bars, and that none of the wires have come loose.

I tried everything I could think of with no luck. There is one other outlet inside that doesn't work. I did find, however, that when I stick a multimeter in either non working outlet, with the ground in the ground hole, I'm seeing around 40v...???????I have searched for another GFI. There are a couple of outlets labled GFI, but with no button. There is also a breaker labled GFI that seems fine.

Yes, the OP could try plugging extension cord into another GFCI to see if it trips. It is no guarantee as GFCI receptacles come in different qualities and may not trip.
OP could try resetting breakers. Turn them all off applying light pressure toward off, then turn main breaker on, then each of the branch breakers one at a time.

Had a similar problem with my water heater plug in right from new. I pulled the cover off the breaker panel and found the power wire broken with a small piece still in the breaker. Was a simple fix.

Did you switch the circuit breaker off and on. Some of them look as if they are on when they have been tripped.

The fridge ran on his extension cord. Could he test for that by plugging the extension cord into a GFCI receptacle in his house instead of a receptacle that is not covered by a GFCI one?

We have 2 GFI devices in our rig. One is on the front of the dinnette booth seat and you can't see it unless you are on your hand and knees.

In our case, the tv, dvd,vhs, front plugs, water heater and frig were not working. It was that GFI. Do you have anything else not working?
