Just a couple comments to the above:
Setting our sedan's AC tstat to a lower temperature does "feel like" it's cooling the car interior faster - cuz the A/C's circulation fan runs at a faster initial speed if the AC is set to a lower temperature when first getting into a hot car.
FWIW, our home's heat pump system does cool the home faster when we set it to cooler setting because both the variable speed circulation fan and variable speed Scroll compressor run at a higher speeds.
