If I read your response correctly, your so called "tech" is an idiot.
    1. IF boondocking, YES, run on LP, IF that is what he is stating
    2. If plugged into Shore Power or Genset, run on AUTO(default is 120), which will be 120 volts. If on Shore/Genset, Inverter will NOT be running the 120 of the Refer as it will just use its pass thru 120 current from the 120 source. Doug

I run on auto at all times and let it switch as needed, that to me was the benefit of the RV over residential. Town I was in last week lost power twice and the fridge just did it's thing.

Check the settings on your fridge... Once turned on, you should be able to choose how the fridge is powered... just had my MH in for service, and my tech recommended I always run fridge on propane, not AC (don't forget to turn your inverter on)...

What was his reasoning for only propane??

HE felt it was a larger draw on the batteries than necessary, as it runs on 110 AC when tied to shore power. Engaging the batteries and inverter to provide AC to the fridge when boondocking was drawing too many amps, if I recall correctly...

  • If it works on AC then it has 12VDC ...for display, interior light, controls and propane system

    Doesn't work on propane.....
Could be several items. Details would be helpful
    Model of Norcold
Has it been a while since you tried propane....might take several attempts to get gas flow
    Does it SPARK
Does Flame light and then go out
Does flame light, stay lit but fridge doesn't cool/gets warm

Details cause it could be something simple/cheap or more expensive
