Not an RV question - Backup power for a sump pump

Hi, This is not a RV specific question, but I thought this would be a good place to start. Every year in the summer, we always worry about the storms that pass through and the resulting flooding...

Our water softener installer came back to the shop last week and was talking about a water powered sump pump backup system. It used some type of siphon effect to pull out the sump well. it sounded cool if you have city water to the house.
