X2!!! Depending on the size/capacity of water removal necessary this is way simplier and more efficient with an automatic float switch activitate pump. Plus they are smaller, lighter and submergable so as long as you have power (battery) they will just keep pumping until the water level drops below the float. Reliable and easy with little to maintence or anything to break. If your just worried water I would also suggest addition of a solar panel.
