Not an RV question - Backup power for a sump pump

Hi, This is not a RV specific question, but I thought this would be a good place to start. Every year in the summer, we always worry about the storms that pass through and the resulting flooding...

While a whole house generator is an expensive solution, it has its advantages. If you have natural gas there is no fuel storage problems, and with an automatic transfer switch, works while you are away. Also solves the problem of running freezers, etc.

By the way, mine is currently supplying my AC. Power went out at 8:30 last night & National Grid doesn't expect to have it back on until 6:00 tonight.
