I appreciate the comments...
yes, after reading thru a few of the thousands of complaints on the internet, the only two real problems that have been reported back by those that have had similar problems is the installation issue/insulation falling on the coils, and poor connections where the thermistor connects to the board.. lots of reports of people replacing the boards without any change in performance, so im not ready to start there until I have checked some of the other less costly possibilities...
yes, I know the unit is dying, and im trying to locate the problem so that it can be saved.... if you read my complete post you would see that I mentioned that when it does work, it works VERY well.... it doesnt make a difference if im traveling or parked on my rv pad at home... sometimes it just quits cooling and I cant get it to cool even though I can see the flame burning and the burner stack is hot.
and after shutting it off for a few days, I go back out to try it again and it works great...until it stops. no reason, no time limits, just at some random time it will stop cooling.... and I have NEVER had it start cooling again without shutting it off and waiting a couple days..
I DID find the service manual and downloaded it, and I will be checking the connection where the thermistor plugs into the board, as this has been reported by others to have been their issue
of the many many complaints found by people looking for help, much less than 1% report back on what was found to be the issue... in my opinion its kind of selfish for one to ask for help in solving their problems, and then never report back as to what was found, so that THEY may help others solve the same or similar issue. unless the problem was never fixed, but its very unlikely that so many problems would go unresolved.
