I purchased several Carbon Monoxide alarms then installed Lithium batteries. Now they are in the gen shed still active.
Have a CO alarm in your bedroom and test it regularly and replace the battery yearly. You want the alarm to be mounted at sleeping-body level.
When the power goes out and I know it's temporary, I'll fire up the Harbor Fright 800 watt on the roofed patio but then retreat indoors where there is a CO alarm
