Lots of possibility, get it checked for sure. Could be brushes worn out, stator, rotor, fuse, brakes, transfer switch, loose wire. The list goes on...
Look up trouble shooting for sure.
Or let the local Cummins throw parts at it. But you would not be here if you wanted to take it in.
