Make everything different and absurdly complicated. No one in their right mind would try to produce generic brand Onan parts.

A 1.2 megawatt generator. Get this, seventeen current pick-up sensors. Onan sells to the military at near cost, then for the next ten years makes 3X more profit on replacement and breakdown parts than they would have on the generator at list price. Not my favorite company. Only the original 6.5NH with stator starter winding was worth considering. Onan/Generac = Cousins.
