Onan carburetor float has fuel inside of float

My Onan Marquis Gold 7000 will run for about 15 seconds and then appears to flood out and die. Took carburetor off, removed the bowl, and the float itself is full of fuel. I'm thinking that is the p...

I found a Nikki carb float that was identical but when I went to pick it up at the local shop it was smaller. Id like to find an adjustable metal one that would work. I'm not giving up yet.
