Onan carburetor float has fuel inside of float

My Onan Marquis Gold 7000 will run for about 15 seconds and then appears to flood out and die. Took carburetor off, removed the bowl, and the float itself is full of fuel. I'm thinking that is the problem. Can I just replace the float?

  • if its a brass float? find the hole and fix it. I,ve resoldered car floats when I was a kid.

Yes if you can get one.

Any damaged gaskets during disassembly should be replaced so you may as well get a kit.
  • I believe most of the 2 cylinder carbs do have kits available- you might look around at ASAP for a kit.
