Onan Emerald 4000

I have a 91 Winnie Warrior on a E350 frame.

My generator ran fine last year , went to start it this year and gave me issues at first , now when I press the generator start button after priming there is only one click. It doesn't try to turn over.

Help me figure this out please , batteries are new. Tried direct jumping with cables and same thing.
  • I would start with the basics - clean all the battery grounds as well as the generator ground - clean/tighten the battery connectors - and make sure the batteries are fully charged. After that - start your engine which will put your chassis and house batteries into parallel mode and then try and start your generator using the start button on the generator.
  • Sounds like it's probably either a bad starter solenoid, a loose or bad wire between the starter and the solenoid, a bad starter, or a bad ground probably in that area. (That is assuming the engine isn't physically seized and can be turned over manually.)
