Onan genny fire but no juice.

You can install a non-return valve (brass) in your Onan's fuel.line between pump and carburetor and they are not expensive.

When my fuel pump went out the mechanic suggested a fairly generic electric pump from the auto parts store over the Onan pump. The difference being that the onan pump would hold pressure in the line so the unit would start faster......that and the price. I think it was a couple hundred vs $50 or so.

Anyway, does anybody know how the fuse on the front of the generator comes out? I don't think that's my issue but I wanted to check it and was unsure how to access it. I didn't want to force anything and break it. (this is not mine, just a pic off the net. The fuse is above the switch)

Well mine was an idiot deal. I never unplug my genny and when I do plug into shore power I always plug the genny back in when I stow the cord. What I failed to think about is I picked up my trailer from the dealer / repair shop and one of them bone heads must have unplugged the genny for some unknown reason.

I am now having problems with my fuel pump on the genny with only 25 run hours.

I have a similar issue so forgive me for hijacking but I thought it'd be best to include it here.

I ran my genny and turned the air on and let it go for 30 minutes or so a week ago. All was good.

We took a trip to the desert this weekend and when I went to start the genny it ran for a couple minutes and then died. I tried restarting with the dash switch and it would not start but did turn over. I guess it was actually running when I held the switch.
I went outside and pushed the start button on the unit itself and it started. I went inside and waited a bit and power never came on. I checked at the inside switch and the hour meter was not turning and I could not shut it down from inside.

I checked and cycled the CB on the unit, checked the breakers inside and checked the obvious ground connections. This seems a little different as the OP was able to start his with the remote button.
Thoughts?

I agree with Bud on this one. You are going to have to start at the beginning of the power source and start tracing back until you lose power and then determine why you lost it. Time consuming, but you will find the problem and know your system better. JMO

Start by checking the receptacle for power. Use a thirty to 15 adapter with one of small pug in receptacle tester.
Does it work plugged into a known good power source.
Either of these tests will show which direction to proceed.
If receptacle is dead, follow wiring toward genset. Normally should have junction box adjacent to it where wiring types are changed.

OK that is probably why the GFCI wouldn't reset, I didn't have power. No transfer switch, just a plug in in the cord compartment.

Yep I reset the genny breaker numerous times both with the genny running and off.

Did you reset the breaker on the generator? Turn it off and back on.

No, GFCI receptacles will not reset when they do not have power.
Do you have a transfer switch or do you have to plug the shore power cord into a receptacle in the shore power compartment?
