Onan Quiet diesel generator 7500 HDKA
Ran all night shut off for couple hours restarted runs 5 minutes and shuts off. Does this with or without load. After 8 or 10 hrs, will run continuously. Could this be a fuel problem or electrical?

Suggestion. Run generator for 5-minutes and shut down. Does it re-start? Then for 15 minutes, and a restart attempt. Have the generator under load. Then do it again for a hour. If it's a thermal hissy-fit, this is the hammer & chisel way of making it angry enough to diagnose.

The bad news is they are famous for welding them selves into the block and requiring drilling and retapping to replace.

- Yes 3 blinks and over half tank of fuel. It will restart run 5 to 15 minutes.
- You have at least 1/4 tank of fuel in RV, right? Had to ask.
- Over temperature sensor sounds suspicious. Latent engine cylinder head heat closing circuit keeping shutdown activated. Engines always gain temperature just after they are shut down after running long time. A bad sensor can act psychotic sometimes.
- Is it throwing a code???
