Other propane ceramic heaters

My single element Buddy heater is too much for my little camper so I've been searching for something similar but with fewer BTUs. HeaterThis one looks promising. Has anyone tried one?

  • I love my Buddy heaters. I think the open window/roof vent idea is an ideal solution.
  • Has to be propane, not electric. The small Buddy heater has no thermostat, just high and low. Even low is too much heat unless I leave the windows open. I had a tiny Coleman catalytic heater that was about right but it didn't last, and I prefer the radiant heat from the Buddy.

    We have that heater
We use it when the wave 9000 is too much heat

It's approximately 5000 btu at full output

Will run about 5 hours with the control turned as low as it will go and stay lit

Heat output is adjustable from the control knob,
    We really like it

One year we gave some to camping buddies as Xmas presents

    Great little heater,
  • Not sure how small your camper is. Mine is about 15'. This is what I have used for four years now: ceramic heater

It has a thermostat control. When the camper reaches the level you like, you just turn the dial until it shuts off. Then it will keep it at that temperature. One time, I went camping in Kerrville, Texas during a very unusual cold spell. When I arrived at the park, the thermometer in the camper was reading 24 degrees. Within about fifteen minutes it was already in the 70s.

This unit is tiny- about the size of a toaster.
  • Ours has a thermostat on it and we just adjust it. It works everytime.
