On our old popup we had, the same thing happened. The kill switch failed and I got a new one from the dealer.
The kill switch on ours was in the folding galley. When we folded the sink down, the switch plunger popped up an cut the power to the lights. When we folded the sink back up, the sink unit pushed the switch down an we ha lights.
There are two types of kill switches, Normally open (NO) and Normally closed (NC) depending on your wiring arrangement. Take the old switch out (if it's bad) and with you to the parts department to compare it with available ones, because the parts department usually will have a few bins of generic switches.
