  • Yes, but I had a friend with a fab shop who sandblasted them first for me. Then I went to an automotive paint shop and they put the color I wanted into a couple of spray cans. Hung the from the garage ceiling with wire. Worked well.

I don't think you need the rims sand blasted bare, but should do enough to at least get all of the existing paint roughed up where you won't be able to get sandpaper to.

  • It's too bad you don't have LesSchwab tire stores there.
They will media-blast and powdercoat any wheel in a selection of colors for just $25 a wheel.
I've had vintage car wheels done by them that were rusty relics that had been laying around a junk yard for decades and they end up looking just like new.
You might see if any tire stores around you will do the same.

The wheels that came on my TT are fugly. I may have them PC them to match the dark grey accents on it.
  • Kids plasticoat / plastidip their car / truck wheels all the time, can't see it being different for a trailer. i've considered going the rustoleum route, never had good luck with krylon products.

do you plan to take the tires and valve stem off, or just do your best to not get too much paint on them?
