Pairing Eu2000's

Anyone know if you can pair up a Canadian Eu2000 with an American Eu2000 companion?
I know Canadian Eu2000's cannot be paired.

  • I believe that the reason is that the Canadian ones have one leg bonded to the frame as a grounded neutral and the U.S. ones have both legs floating. Compare the two schematics to be sure.
    Art.
  • Is there some reason why Canada forbids pairing up generators?

Is the Canadian model just missing the pairing jacks?
That's one of the big questions that I don't think has been authoritatively answered. Some opinions confidently say it's only the jacks that are missing, while others say the parallel capability has actually been removed. Based on my electronics industry experience, I bet my nickel that only the jacks are missing.

Thats what I was thinking as well - the guts are probably identical.
I finally found info on the Canadian model. It does indeed appear that the jacks are missing.

  • Maybe...
If the Canadian was started first, I think the US would sync to it.
