If you set the voltage how can it run free to maintain the set current? I don't understand what this gizmo really does.
For bulk charging set the voltages the same at 14.8 and make the max current limit 20a. For equalizing, set the current at constant 5a per 100AH and let the voltage run free ???
BFL13, if there is a current limit on the power supply, the power supply will usually reduce the output voltage in an effort to stay within the safe operating space controlled (set) by current limiting.
Once the battery voltage increases to a level where current limiting is not needed, the voltage will be regulated - not the current. This means each supply will now produce varying levels of current to the load as each regulator loop tries to maintain some fixed voltage level.
A true constant current supply has an adjustable current setting and an output voltage that floats at whatever level is needed according to ohms law and the load impedance.
EDIT: I can't spell either...
