Most of this thread is way over my head--lol!
Just installed a PD9260C converter in my TT as my primary converter. Left the OEM WFCO8955 converter fully functional in its stock, OEM location. Only intend to use it for backup purposes.
Two questions for those in the know:
If I accidently turned on both converters at the same time is there any chance I could damage either one?
Any additional concerns if, say, they're both turned on at the same time with the PD9260C in 14.4v boost/bulk mode while the WFCO8955 is in 13.6v mode?
Thanks!
You won't damage either converter running both. If one is at 14.4 and the other is 13.6, they will only add their amps until the batteries are at 13.6, then you are only charging with the 14.4 one and the 13.6 one is treading water.
Before that, the amps from the 13.6 one will be tapering as batt voltage nears 13.6, so you can only expect decent results from added amps when they are both on 14.4.
One thing to watch is your 120v supply with two converters on. You could pop a breaker from overload of a 15a circuit or exceed a generator's max output.
