Sometime when time is not an issue experiment with a pair of PS that are not specifically designed to be paralleled. Probe each GATE of the BiPolar transistors, then connect the power supplies in parallel with no isolation of output. Unbalance the output voltage with the pots. Report what you see on the scope. Then reconnect the PS through rectifiers to isolate. Repeat the exercise. Now what do you see on your oscilloscope? May be enlightening. Usually is frightening.
