Pay as you go satellite

For those that have the pathway x2 is there a way that if you have 4 TV's, that 2 can share a connection? So that all 4 tvs have a feed but that they are shared feeds?

I did see one RV with two portable antennae and two cables going into the RV. Using two Tailgaters/X2s and two 211/Wally receivers, one combo for each TV, will give both TVs complete freedom to watch any shows.

I'm sorry but the more I read the more confused I get. One thing I haven't said and maybe I should have. I have a 2004 2955RL montana 5th wheel. Under the bedroom TV is the antenna jack and the booster. under that coax plug is another one that say's Satellite. But in the living room there is only one cable hook up?

Yes I allready looked that up, That's not what I want on my RV. I just want to be able to have a portable Sat. Ant. and watch different channels in the living room and bed room. Amd your right I don't know a lot about this equipment. Thats why I'm here looking up every very name or # that you people are putting out there. I also have read hours on other post that were allready up. So I'm sorry if your upset because I don't have enough knowlage, but I thank all of you for your advice.

I would perfer not to put anything that big on my roof mounted permanantly. I have 4 100 watt solar panels up there now and not sure if I'll be expanding down the road. So I was leaning toward the tailgater but I read a lot of complaints about it. So I read here about the X2 I think that was it. Anyway amazon has the x2 with one wally receiver for around $450 I'll probaly buy it and work with one box. I'm not exactly a wiz with electronics, so when you throw out #'s I don't know what they mean, or when you start talking about adding a hard drive. It's not that I'm SHOOTING down the idea's I'm just an IDIOT when it comes to that stuff. So please don't accuse me of, not doing research or not taking your advice. I just thought that there would be a simple product out there and wanted to ask the board for advice. And it looks like I'm taking the advice of who ever it was that recommended the X2.

Oh, I live in Windsor Ca. and the property in washington has no internet or cell service of any kind. I can get Verizon service about 3 miles from my property.

Yes, that's what we have. Love it. We tried the self standing dish setups and struggled to get a signal. Our goal is to relax when we're out, not struggling with the connection. With the Trave'ler Dish, we push a button and it locates the satellites automatically.

Well, yes we have one satellite dish, but it did take the wealthy part to pay for the initial installation! :)

No I am not upset, in fact, I empathize with your situation.

1. If you must be able to watch different channels on the second TV, then you must have two LNBs.

You have rejected the Trav'ler either for cost or not portable.

2. Is there another multi LNB solution? Yes, portable but not automatic. Proposed by Dutch_12078. Do you reject this because it is not automatic?

If yes, then the only way to watch any two channels is with two single LNB antennae as I suggested. The automatic and portable antennae, namely Tailgater and X2 have only one LNB. Do you also reject that suggestion?

3. Because, if you must have only one receiver, then you only get one receiver per antenna.

Well, no solution, now what?

Although a dome antenna can lock onto up to 3 satellites in an arc, that's merely automatically locating where it has to turn, in order to receive each satellite. It can only receive all the channels from one satellite at a time -- and has to move its single LNB assembly to change satellites.

If this means you cannot call, text, or get internet then you will have no way to contact DISH while on your property.

With PAYG, your DISH system must be set up and running while you are asking DISH to set your service address to your property's ZIP code. DISH needs to send authorization info to your receiver from their satellite(s) while you are in contact with them. Once this is done, you can then drive to your property and the system will work thereafter.

As for the Canadian issue, I ran into that when I was camping along the St. Lawrence Seaway in NY. I could see giant cell towers across the river. They were powerful enough for my cell phone to choose over the USA towers. I paid the international rate of $0.69/min for one call, ouch! I had to manually set my phone for USA towers as I traveled towards Maine. Dirty low-life trick! Same thing along the Mexican border.

On the East-West arc issue, how much time do you plan to spend in New England in Winter? IOW, do you understand where satellites are located as seasons change?
