- pigman1ExplorerDrain it and dry it completely, preferably with a hair drier or heat gun. You want the area inside the crack dry too. Sand the area till shiny so it's clean and gives the glue something to grab on to, then apply a small bit of Loctite. When the Locktite dries, coat the whole area with a generous coating of JB Weld. Super glue works in place of Locktite too. I've used this technique to repair a number of plumbing leaks in things like valves and even T fittings and have had a 100% success rate.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIWhat Brand of water heater?
And where is this pin hole leak???
What 3 three wires?????????
Atwood uses an aluminum tank which can be welded
Suburban uses a steel 'glass lined' tank which can NOT be welded.
Wires do not go in tank/come out of tank
Tank pressures can get as high as 150# and temps as high as 210*F
JB Weld is good product provided you get/use the correct one - BipeflierExplorerChances are that with a heater that old, the leak is just the first of more to come due to internal corrosion.
May be time to spring for a new tank. - tvman44ExplorerI would agree with JB Weld.
- Happycamper30ExplorerThank you very much for the response, I'll try it, let's hope it work
