If stored in your camper all year, the constant temperature changes alone will cause the plastic the hoses are made of to begin to break down (not to mention, in addition, all the chemicals that pass through your hose...yes, even dishwashing liquid will break stuff down if given enough time). After a while, even the slightest drag over a sharp tiny stone or a stick in the grass or even bumping into another hose in storage could cause the thinning plastic to begin to just, literally... wear out and begin to get pin holes.
The only solution for longer life is a thicker mil hose which takes longer for the deterioration process to occur.
If you can afford it, Rino hoses are pretty durable. But if you really want to get creative, you can always make your own. All you need is the end connectors and a 3 inch hose, like black field tile or even those plastic extension you can use at the bottom of the gutter down-spouts at your house. Actually, those are pretty tough if you want to take the time to make your own set. But they don't store very compact though.
I did find some slinky style down-spout hoses that pull apart and pull tight again. I'm using those around my house for the down spouts. I'm seriously considering making a set of hoses myself out of that stuff. It's just an idea!
