Unless you are living in the 1990s, there is no need for a surge protector for a computer. Not at all. Aren’t you working on your laptop? The power going into the laptop is DC already. It is converted by the little Transformer that you plug into the wall that has a different sort of cord that you plug into the laptop. All major devices these days run on DC power. And that DC is created outside of the device itself in the power cord and associated transformer. I’d save my money for something that is useful.
It is somewhat baffling to me that someone in technology doesn’t know this.
