As noted, Progressive or TRC EMS units are not power filters, are not designed to protect anything from power "variations", in this case a non-sinusoidal waveform. Rather, they're designed to detect errors in power distribution - miswiring that creates open ground, open neutral, reverse polarity situations, low / high voltage, incorrect frequency, etc, and if any of these errors are detected then disconnect power from the trailer. What Progressive is warning about is the Yamaha EF2000iS's propensity for generating this non-sinusoidal waveform under some conditions, which is beyond the scope of the EMS manufacturer to control but likewise apparently beyond the scope of some to understand. :R
