I'm surprised at all the defense of something that fails so easily. Yes, you can debate all of the technical nits of what it is and isn't designed for. Do many of the prospective customers understand any of this, or even care about it? I doubt it. They look at the list of the technical features and conclude exactly what is stated as the product description on the Amazon page for the EMSHW30C: "This product provides total electrical protection of RV electronics and complete digital readout of the AC power source." That's not correct of course, but I'd wager that's what the manufacturer wants the buyer to conclude, at his own risk of course. Why isn't the Yamaha issue mentioned in the marketing literature, feature list, technical specs, warranty, or owner's manual? Has anybody heard of other devices being damaged by the Yamaha generator? Air conditioner, power converter, television? There's a design flaw in this thing, and the manufacturer wants to keep it as quiet as possible and doesn't want to fix it. My opinion, of course.
