I'm not meaning to encourage this idea, but want to note that if backfeeding the utility power was illegal, there are millions of solar systems out there in violation. From the technical viewpoint, I'd guess it wouldn't work very well unless the utility voltage is on the high side, which I'm assuming it isn't. The eu2000i output voltage tends to be about 126 to 128 under light loads, and around 115 at maximum output. Power will flow from the higher voltage point to the lower voltage point. The best case IMO is that the eu2000i would be running full bore to supply the air conditioner, with the utility providing the "assist" power. The worst (and most likely case) is that the eu2000i would attempt to power the grid and trip out from overload.
