I have two tachs hooked up together to the same 12v constant power.I accidentally pulled the wire loose and they still work.How is this possible.Also i have the ground on both tachs hooked to the same...

The tach needle is probably driven from the tach pickup. The 12 volt connection is only needed for a back light.
