I have one and it does seem quieter but not as quiet as a Honda. FWIW I don't camp with it. I had a realization that I bought my camper with creature comforts and felt that boon docking was not for me so the generator was a back up at home.
I don't want to steer you into any direction but the perceived noise to me is a bit louder than I thought. To be completely honest if I was a boon docker who camped near folks I would opt for the more expensive Honda and Yamaha.
Its not a bad unit for the price, it runs my AC without fail. I will let you make your decision.
