TWO (2) Gauge interconnection with jumpers. Leave the hood open. You'll have AC power so use an extension cord and an old fan to play air on the alternator. Air enters the REAR of the alternator and exits the front the part nearest the radiator. Why heat the alternator more than absolutely necessary? Use a fan. You do not need to charge the batteries anything less than what they are capable of safely accepting. Time is money here, use 2 gauge cables. Price them and figure out how many gallons of gasoline they are worth. 2 gauge will allow more than 100 amperes to pass to the trailer batteries if they ask for it. NOT TOO MUCH for the alternator for thousands of hours doing this.
