if you want to use a "standard" auto alt keep in mind they make it as ac and convert it to dc for the car/truck.
and you can spend big bucks for what are called high out put alt. see big green. even some stock ac delco (gm motors) units are high out put.
but what are you going to turn it with??? a gas motor , need a good strong one. the rpms can be delt with using odd sized pulleys
