I think you may be mistaken on the output of the alternator. More common are 100-130 amp alternators in Ford pickups. I may be behind the curve, though, as I don't have much experience with newer Ford's.
Bottom line is that it's working for 'ya and that is the most important.

I looked into it, it is a 220amp alternator. Around 150 amps available at idle, minus whatever the truck needs to run, I estimate 40 - 50 amps for my particular truck, but I will clamp on an ampmeter at some point to see. Based on voltage drop calculations, I was pulling around 70 amps to run the AC, and later, about 45 - 50 amps initially to charge the batteries. Startup voltage when it senses a load a 14.3v at the vehicle bateery terminals, after an hour 14.1, 2nd hour it stayed around 13.9v RPM had no effect, so it was regulated, not maxed out.
