TWO (2) Gauge interconnection with jumpers. Leave the hood open. .......Time is money here, use 2 gauge cables. Price them and figure out how many gallons of gasoline they are worth. 2 gauge will allow more than 100 amperes to pass to the trailer batteries if they ask for it. NOT TOO MUCH for the alternator for thousands of hours doing this.
Funny to read this! I ordered a set of 2 ga cables from Amazon, and a 150 amp breaker, just to be safe. $60
I had a voltage drop of 1.0 volts when I was just charging the batteries with my 8ga cables, (from truck to trailer batteries) and 1.3 volts when running the AC. Not ideal, but I was merely validating the operation. Now I will optimize it!
