Preventing Portable Solar Kit from growing legs

Since we do 90% of our camping at National and State Park CG's, how can I prevent someone from walking off with a portable solar kit like this one at Amazon?
Go Power GP-PSK 120w

We want to be able to leave the at the CG for the day and return later in the afternoon with batteries charged. I do have room on my MH roof, but it's up towards the front and I don't like going up there.

I have a portable kit that is practically identical to that one that I purchased from Solar Blvd for $200. I use a 3/8" security cable with padlocks and tether the panels to the RV.

There is no guarantee they will be not be stolen, but having them tethered minimizes the risk of having an opportunist thief walk away with them.
  • You probably can't. As piano says, stick 'em on the roof. If you're gone all day, you can't turn them as you should anyway.

We've had lots of thievery threads, and judging by that, it's really not an issue. Perhaps you'd better just leave them inside when gone.
  • Hi,

For $500 you should be able to do a permanent roof install with at least double that wattage, and have money left over to go out for a nice meal. It won't walk away if it is on the roof.
