First the converter has 1 two or 3 30 amp fuses. they are on the end with the wires attached.
Second if it is LESS THAN 10 years old.. Progressive Dynamics is in Marshall, MNI.. I dropped in last Halloween, mine was 12.5 years old so .... We got a factory Refurb. I've not yet had time to dig into the original to find out what failed. I know it was NOT the fuses.
The first thing I did was checked the three green fuses from the exterior.
I already found a used Powermax PM4 75 watt for $86.00
How much was the refurb?
I'm thinking of moving the batteries to my Class-B camper van. Unless you're traveling trying to maintain a battery bank is probably going to be more expensive than having a generator.
My Class-C motorhome has a 4000 watt Onan generator that's fed by the fuel tank. I suppose I could convert it to propane. The PUD power over the course of a year usually will go out one or two times per year for up to a few hours to a day and half.
If the PUD goes out a generator keeps the refrig running plus supplies 12 volts through the converter.
I think for full timing with utilities having batteries may be a waste of money. If traveling then you need batteries.
I'll purchase several fuses from Digikey and try one out. If it blows again then I'll most likely store it in a parts box, (unless I'm able to take additional time to try to diagnose.)
I keep a bunch of electronics in my storage shed. I inventoried it and stored everything in plastic boxes.
