Progressive Industries EMS display brightness - annoying?

I have installed a PI EMS-HW50C in my trailer (it is wired 50A) and am thinking about mounting the remote display next to the 12V switch and monitor panel. This is on a wood panel directly under the TV and faces into the "salon". For those of you who have lived with the display mounted inside and not in a cabinet, does the constantly changing display get annoying? I have powered the unit up for a test and it is pretty bright but I don't know if it would drive us nuts or not. Thoughts from the folks who have lived with these displays would be greatly appreciated. And I did try to search but couldn't come up with anything about the annoyance factor in the last year.

Thanks in advance.

  • Yes it would be annoying. Mine is in a cabinet that I can open when we are setting up camp to check line quality. I would suggest that, if possible, you mount your display so you can see it as you plug in your shore power, then watch it go through it's line diagnostics. But it has shut down on me when line quality is bad so I don't see a need to watch it like a hawk. I just watch when I am curious but it can be pretty boring. :)
  • I mounted mine on the street side wall behind the sofa so I can see it directly when looking into the camper from outside through the entry door but where it's not in direct view from inside - not annoying at all. :)

  • Yes - annoying. We mounted ours inside a wardrobe. We can check it when we want.
  • Yes it would be annoying to me to be front and center.
Mine is by the entry door facing away from the general living area.
