I know will catch flack for this, but I think people are making too much about E10 fuel ! Where I live this is all you can buy and it has been that way for well over 10 years. I use it in my vehicles and ALL OF MY OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT.
Yes, I have a generator. Yes, it sits months on end without running. I usually fire it up every 2-3 months, put a load on it (2hp air compressor) and let it run for about 15 minutes. To shut down, I unplug the load, turn the fuel off and run the carb dry.
In the past 20 years I think I had 1 or 2 fuel related problems, one just last week. I dropped the bowl on the lawn mower carb, cleaned the main jet, sprayed some cleaner up the passage for the emulsion tube and put it back together. 15 minutes tops.
Now no one wants to do that in the middle of a "dark and stormy night", but it is just not worth the time and money to find and STORE ethanol free gas.
As a matter of fact, before hurricane Harvey hit, I filled up both vehicles and bough an extra 30 gallons of E10. On vehicle is still almost full, obe has over a half tank (after adding 6 gallons) and I still have 24 gallons left.
