Go to the local general aviation airport and get some 100LL Avgas. Should be somewhere around $5 a gallon. We sell a lot for snowblowers and a local antique car museum. Doesn't work well in Honda 4 stokers. Remains stable for years.
NOPE, Not gonna happen in PA..
Local airports near me ALL require LEGIT FAA TAIL NUMBERS BEFORE THEY WILL SELL AV GAS.
Racing fuel, yeah, that won't happen in PA either.. Fuel stations that have non E gas for racing REQUIRE PROPER ENTRY TICKETS FOR THAT DAY BEFORE THEY WILL SELL RACING FUEL..
Honestly, can't figure out all the overkill worry about E gas..
Folks, you HAVE been buying 5% to 10% E gas since the 1970s..
Remember "Gasohol"?
Yeah, they couldn't sell the stuff back then and eventually started doping gas supplies without folks even knowing it.. You HAVE been buying gasohol since the 1970s and never thought about it, they simply quit calling it that..
As far as it causing damage, well, I have not found 10% cause any issues other than the loss in fuel mileage..
Run it in my chainsaws, weed eater, multiple tractors, multiple generators, multiple modern vehicles, log splitter, antique vehicles all without damage to carbs, fuel pumps or fuel lines..
Some of these engines sit for a couple of years with the SAME fuel and no "stabilizers" added by me.
The only issue I can see is if you have an older carb which used a cork float, the cork floats were sealed with shellac and shellac is easily dissolved with alcohol. There is a fix for that, dry out the cork, reseal with paint used for model rockets (it is chemical resistant)..
Well said. Smothered in common sense.
But if you absolutely must remove the ethanol talk to this guy.
