With high humidity and condensation, that's a pretty tall order.
My worst case scenario calculation assumptions assume 100% humidity and 100% of all water condensed and went to the bottom of the tank and it was still a negligible amount over 6 months. For your average lawn mower sitting in the garage, that is a major over estimation of the amount of water that can get in the gas.
I'm not saying ethanol is good or bad choice from a environmental/food/justice/etc... standpoint, just that most of the horror stories blamed on ethanol are not likely to be related to ethanol.
