Pulling ethanol out of gas

I have seen several YouTube videos of people separating ethanol from gas. Anyone tried this for your generators or yard equipment? To buy pure gas at Lowes or Home Depot you pay about $8 a gallon or more. Since I don't use my generator very often, I'm considering it. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
  • Supposedly vendors of ALKYLATE are around. It can be used straight and it is a product of isobutane - meaning zero nasties to gum and sludge. The price is probably astronomical tho-
  • Puregas.org lists ethanol free stations
    for CA the url is
    https://www.pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=CA

I have this as a poi file for TOM TOM OV2 format.
ANy one interested PM me with a good email address for you and I will send it
  • Go to the local general aviation airport and get some 100LL Avgas. Should be somewhere around $5 a gallon. We sell a lot for snowblowers and a local antique car museum. Doesn't work well in Honda 4 stokers. Remains stable for years.
  • I go to a local marina and get e-free gas for my small engines and gen.
  • Living in Kalifornia, I feel your pain. You cannot buy anything but e-gas unless it's canned gas, which, isn't really gasoline at all. It's just an aromatic hydrocarbon substitute.
  • Get Marine Stabil (it's blue and don't stink like the red stuff and use that. It prevents phase separation for at least a year. I use it all the time now. It ain't cheap but it's worth it.

Sure there are others out there but Marine Stabil works for me.
  • Don't you have other options besides Lowes or HD? We have certain stations that sell the real stuff all the time, especially near marinas/lakes.

Also, if you don't use it that often, purchase in quantity when you can and store it with Stabil or SeaFoam. I just refilled my gas cans with pure premium yesterday and wrote the date on them. They'll last me at least a year before I pour the remainder into one of our vehicles and start over.
