Hein Werner. Bought one floor jack, brand new, two hundred dollars. Forty years ago. Removed it from the box. Fitted the 2-ton jack under the front of a car that weighed 2,200 pounds total. Jacked one front tire off the ground. Noticed a puddle I contacted the seller who contacted the manufacturer. Hein Werner insisted their jack was mistreated. Since that point I have avoided Hein Werner and both from my avoidance and twisting of arms, HW has lost about 40,000 dollars in sales, easily.
fj12ryder,
Thanks for the laugh. I needed that!
Until prices went stratospheric, my choice in Jacks was WALKER.
I have a 16 year old Harbor Fright 12-ton with synthetic fluid that hasn't lost a drop. Same with the 4-ton, and a 5-ton floor jack. I didn't replace the oil in 1 3-1/2 ton Costco special and was told last month it has started to leak. My Bad.
In the late 70's to late 90's the outfit I worked for had over 60 Hein-Warner jacks from 1T bottle to 50T bottle, transmission-car, Transmission -semi, Floor -various sizes. In the 90's they started moving stuff off-shore and warranty became problematic. We moved to Walker and Jet for the most part.
