Best way is to buy an additional jack connector like you are inquiring about and planning to cut. Install that connector, wired into your RV's 12V system. Your control box will now be powered and you can save the power brick for future use. Conventionally, inside surface of jack connector is (+) positive phase and outer surface is (-) negative/ground phase. You can confirm that on your power brick by powering it and using a meter.
